Another way for the All Souls community to stay connected was launched on April 14th, when Galen, Audette, Tracy and Pamela sent out this email announcing the formation of Circles of Care:
Dear Friends,
The shelter-in-place phase of the coronavirus epidemic has now entered its fifth week, and we are all being put to the test. The sheltering edict tests our patience, the sorrow and suffering around us test our faith, and the uncertainty of the road ahead tests our resilience. As your ministers, we are keenly aware of these challenges, with which we wrestle as well. Our goal has been to rally our collective compassion and sense of purpose to encourage each other to stay physically safe and spiritually strong.
In this spirit, we wish to invite you to our Circles of Care, our community wide pastoral response to the COVID-19 crisis. We are creating groups of 5-10 people, each with a captain, so that we can connect with one another in an intentional way. If you would like to be included as a recipient of care, please contact Pamela Patton, Director of Pastoral Ministries, at pamela@allsoulsnyc.org.
We understand that some All Souls members and friends are not on email or may not be in a position to respond to this message right now. Bearing that in mind, we will include many of you in the Circles of Care even if you don't respond to this message. Along with our online programming and our one-on-one pastoral care, we hope that the Circles of Care will strengthen compassionate connection within our beloved community.
Love and blessings,
Your ministers -
Galen, Audette, Tracy & Pamela
